On January 13, 2025 the Bulgaria-China Research Center for Agrarian and Rural Development was visited by Dr. Yuan Lyu, Deputy Director of the Bulgarian Center of Shanghai Jiao Tong University. On February 26, 2025 Dr.Lyu gave a seminar at BCRCARD on "Agency in Market Transformation" unpacking Yiwu market development (more info: IAE-1, IAE-2).

From November 17 to 23, 2024, five members of the Bulgaria-China Research Center for Agrarian and Rural Development (Hrabrin Bachev, Bozhidar Ivanov, Boryana Ivanova, and Dobri Dunchev) visited China and met the management of Shanghai Jiao Tong University and Guilin University of Technology. On November 20, 2024, they took part in the "Belt and Road" Climate Change and Regional Sustainable Development Forum and Guilin City National Sustainable Development Agenda Innovation Demonstration Zone Capacity Building Training Workshop, organized by the Joint China-Bulgarian Laboratory for Adaptive Governance of Rural Ecosystems to Climate Change and the Center for Promoting Sustainable Development of Guilin. Bulgarian delegation also met the Consul General of Bulgaria in Shanghai Mr. Vladislav Spasov (more Info: GLTVS - GLUT - Gulinlife - KJJ - INEWS - IAE - SSA).
The Forth Sino-Bulgarian Climate Change and Rural Revitalization Symposium of the Joint Lab was organized at the University of National and World Economy in Sofia on August 28, 2024. Shengquan Che and Hrabrin Bachev presented Rural Climate Risk Assessment Report - Bulgaria, prepared by the Joint lab members. Event was attended by Ambassador of China H.E. Dai Qingli, Rector of UNWE Prof. Dimitar Dimitrov, President of Agricultural Academy Prof. Violeta Bojanova, and Rector of Agrarian University - Plovdiv Prof. Boryana Ivanova (more Info: IAE - AgroTV(1) - AgroTV(2) - Bulgarian Farmer - MAF - SJTU - BTA - UNWE - AU - SSA).
On August 22, 2024 Bulgaria-China Research Center for Agrarian and Rural Development was visited by high level delegation from the Ministry of Science and Technology of China headed by Ms. Li Guihua, Director General. Meeting was attended by H.E. Guo Dacheng, Science and Technology Attaché, Embassy of China and visiting professors and students from SJTU. This year's visit of SJTU partners included meetings in Samokov region, including the Mayor Angel Dzhorgov, and Prof.Boryana Ivanova, Rector of Agrarian University, Plovdiv (more info: IAE(1) - IAE(2) - Агро.бг - Синор - Гласът на земеделеца - AU).
On October 25, 2023, the Third Sino-Bulgarian Climate Change and Rural Revitalization Symposium of the Joint Lab was organized at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. Event was attended by Prof. Zhou Jun, Dean of Division of Frontier Research, SJTU, Mr. Zhao Quan, Deputy Director of Department of International Cooperation in Science and Technology Commission of Shanghai Municipality, and Mr.Vladislav Spasov, Consul General of Bulgaria (more Info: IAE - SJTU- MFA - BTA - SSA).
The Second Sino-Bulgaria Climate Change and Rural Revitalization Symposium and Annual Forum of The Belt and Road International Joint Laboratory was held in Sofia on May 30, 2023 (more info: IAE - SJTU - Radio China International - YouTube - Other media).
On November 4-5, 2022 International Scientific-Practical Conference „10 years Initiative “16 + 1”. Cooperation, Exchange and Connectivity between China and CEE Countries” was held in Sofia. Agricultural Academy was co-organizers, and Hrabrin Bachev was a member of the Scientific Committee and Moderator of Parallel Session 1. On September 30, 2022, the Inauguration Ceremony of Sino-Bulgarian Joint Lab on Climate Change Adaptive Governance for Rural Ecosystems and Symposium on "Sino-Bulgarian Climate Change Rural Ecosystem Governance" were held at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. Forum was organized by Shengquan Che and Hrabrin Bachev - Co-leaders of the new Lab and the 2022-2025 project of BCRCARD.
Online 2020 “China and Central Eastern Europe” International Scientific Forum is organized by the SJTU Bulgarian Center on November 18, 2020. Panel 2 Session on "Rural Revitalization and Urban-Rural Integration in China and Central Eastern Europe" is organized by Shengquan Che and Hrabrin Bachev. Scholars from Albania, Bulgaria, China, Hungary, Romania and Serbia presented research on topical issues of agrarian and rural development (download Proceedings).
On October 21, 2019 Bulgaria-China Research Center for Agrarian and Rural Development was visited by delegation from the Ministry of Science and Technology of China headed by Mr.Chen Zhimin, Director General, China Science and Technology Exchange Center. H.E. Hongbo Gai, First Secretary (Science and Technology), Embassy of China attended meeting.
From July 23 to August 12, 2019 two members of Bulgaria-China Research Center for Agrarian and Rural Development (Hrabrin Bachev and Kalin Slanev) attended Advance Seminar on China's Practices in Agricultural Development organized by Academy for International Business Officials in Beijing. More than 40 agrarian and rural officials and experts from China and 15 countries of Asia, America, Africa, and Europe participated.
On July 10, 2019 Bulgaria-China Research Center for Agrarian and Rural Development was visited by faculties and students from School of Design of Shanghai Jiao Tong University. On a seminar Chinese and Bulgarian scholars presented their research on agrarian and rural development (see media report)
